What does title insurance cover?

Title insurance protects against hidden risks that may affect ownership rights, such as:

What’s the difference between an Owner’s Policy and a Lender’s Policy?
  • The Owner’s Policy protects the homebuyer’s equity and rights.
  • The Lender’s Policy protects the mortgage lender’s interest.

Both are important, but only the Owner’s Policy protects you, the buyer.

Do I need both policies?

If you’re purchasing with a mortgage, the Lender’s Policy is required.

The Owner’s Policy is optional but highly recommended—it protects your financial investment for as long as you own the property.

Is title insurance paid annually?

No. Title insurance is a one-time payment at closing.

Coverage lasts for the life of ownership with no renewals, no monthly bills, and no additional fees.
